Aeffe Brewery: the excellence of Campanian craft beer
Located in the heart of Nocera Inferiore, in the province of Salerno, Aeffe Brewery is one of the most significant and innovative players in the Italian craft beer scene, with strong roots in tradition and a marked inclination towards experimentation. Founded in 2008 by Arturo Spinelli and Ferdinando Di Landro, the brewery stands out for its ability to combine a passion for quality with careful stylistic research, offering beers that cater to diverse tastes, from lovers of classic styles to those who prefer more modern and refined interpretations.
Since 2018, production has taken place in a new facility of over 1,000 square meters, equipped with a state-of-the-art system featuring ten 24-hectolitre fermenters and a horizontal lagering tank. This step up in quality has allowed Aeffe to reach an annual production capacity of about 1,000 hectolitres, with an offering that ranges from its own brand to contract brewing. The combination of tradition and technology enables the brewery to maintain high quality standards, satisfying both local and national markets.
Quality, territory, and customization
Aeffe’s production philosophy revolves around two fundamental pillars: the quality of ingredients and the customization of beers. A prime example of this attention is the collaboration with local pizzerias and restaurants to develop beers dedicated to pairing with specific dishes. Among these is the famous Birra Margherita, a Saison characterized by a light body and a dry finish, enriched with spicy notes of ginger, orange peel, and coriander, designed to enhance the goodness of traditional Campanian pizza.
Among the various beers signed by Aeffe, standouts include:
- Pilsener - Neapolitan Craft Beer: a bottom-fermented beer with a golden color, fresh and refreshing.
- Birra Margherita Ambrata: with malty, toasted notes, a dry finish, and a delicate bitterness.
These creations reflect the constant search for authentic flavors and the enhancement of local brewing traditions, paying homage to the cultural roots of Campania.
Another distinctive element is the use of typical local ingredients, promoting local excellence. For the Saison, for example, the Senatore Cappelli ancient wheat grown in Cilento is used, while some beers include the addition of PGI lemon peel from the Amalfi Coast. These choices highlight the deep connection with the territory and the brewery’s commitment to promoting the products and excellences of its land.
In addition to production, Aeffe is a reference point for enthusiasts and the curious, offering guided tours and tastings that allow visitors to get to know the production process up close and appreciate the characteristics of the different beers. Throughout the year, cultural events such as concerts and book presentations are also organized, events that transform the brewery into a space where beer becomes a vehicle of culture and social life, enriching the experience of those who decide to visit it.
