The Sikè Brewery, located in the heart of Caltagirone, in the province of Catania, stands out as a young and innovative presence in the vibrant landscape of Italian microbreweries. Founded in 2017 by the Malfa brothers, Sikè began production with its own equipment in November 2019, focusing exclusively on unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bottle-conditioned beers. This choice underscores the brewery’s philosophy: to offer fresh, authentic products full of character.

One of the elements that make Sikè Brewery unique is its strong attention to locality. The selection of raw materials is carried out in close collaboration with small local farmers, allowing the enhancement of biodiversity and the typical flavors of eastern Sicily. Sikè’s Beers: Authentic Flavors Connected to the Territory

Sikè’s catalog includes several offerings, all united by high-quality artisanal production and well-defined taste profiles:

• PLFM: an American Brown Ale with an amber color tending towards copper, and a dense off-white foam. On the nose, pronounced notes of red fruit are perceived, while on the palate it is structured and full-bodied, with a marked bitterness and a pleasant warmth in the throat. It is the ideal companion for robust dishes such as roasted meats, grilled foods, fried dishes, hamburgers, and spicy preparations.

• Hera: a full-bodied blonde characterized by a white and persistent foam. Delicate floral notes and bread crust emerge on the nose, while the drink is smooth and light, finishing with a moderate bitterness. This beer pairs perfectly with seafood dishes such as crustaceans and mollusks, as well as pizzas, pastas, and lightly seasoned dishes.

• Ade: also a full-bodied blonde, with dense white foam; it features intense scents of grapefruit, citrus, and resin. It is a structured and dense beer with a sharp and decisive bitterness, making it ideal to accompany roasted meats, grilled foods, fried dishes, hamburgers, and spicy preparations.

Although Sikè does not offer a direct taproom, it focuses on the production and distribution of very fresh craft beers. Each brew is announced with a production bulletin published one month before market release, a system that allows enthusiasts to pre-order their case and save on the purchase. After a 21-day period dedicated to natural fermentation and maturation, the beer is ready to be distributed and enjoyed at its best quality.
