Simon & Co Brewery: the artisanal heart of Calabrian beer

In the evocative setting of Calabria, in Andali, at the foot of the picturesque Sila Piccola, lies Simon & Co Brewery, an artisanal microbrewery born in 2017 from the passion of brothers Luigi and Felice Masciari. This project stems from the famous Simon Pub in Catanzaro, a British-style venue founded in 1992 that has become an essential point of reference for craft beer enthusiasts.

The choice of Andali as the production site is no coincidence: here the fundamental element of water, thanks to its purity and superior quality, combines with the use of carefully selected ingredients from both the Calabrian territory and abroad. The result is a production that blends tradition and innovation, giving life to beers with an authentic and distinctive character, appreciated not only in Catanzaro but also beyond regional borders.

Artisanal production and quality beers

The brewery stands out for an annual production capacity of about 12,000 liters, with production cycles of 400 liters and a cellar of 1,600 liters. Overseeing every phase to ensure high-quality standards is brewer Felice Masciari, whose experience and passion are reflected in the quality of the beers offered.

Simon & Co Brewery’s catalog is varied and high-level, including:

• La Blonde, an American Pale Ale at 5.5%
• Ambree, a Belgian Specialty Ale with a strong character at 7%
• Bardh, a fresh and light Witbier at 5%
• Zes, a Sweet Stout with a sweet body at 5%
• Andali Pale Ale, an American Pale Ale at 5.5%
• Victory and Lucy, two India Pale Ales at 6.5% and 5.7% respectively
• Contrada Campia, a unique Italian Grape Ale at 7.2%, which combines the world of beer with the flavors of wine

A distinctive feature is the ability to experiment with original and complex tastes, from the ginger aroma of Zezé, to the fruity notes of Stefy Anna Gabry, to the hints of lemon and lime in Bard or prickly pear in Cacova vs Gambalese. The Sulla, a honey beer, adds a unique sweet touch.

The beers, available on tap and bottled, are found in the Simon Pub in Catanzaro and in numerous venues in the province, bringing Calabrian quality everywhere.
