Turris Birra: the first agricultural brewery of Val Taro
In the heart of Val Taro, in Borgo Val di Taro, province of Parma, Turris Birra was born, the first agricultural brewery in the area. Founded in 2017 by Chiara Tarana and Davide Cresci, this project stems from a strong passion for craft beer and a deep connection to the territory. The uniqueness of Turris Birra lies in the fact that the company is based on an organic certified farm since 1990, which directly cultivates two-row barley, the main ingredient for the production of its beers. This synergy between agriculture and brewing allows total control over all phases, from raw material to finished product, enhancing Italian tradition and quality in every sip.
A range of 100% Italian and sustainable craft beers
Turris Birra’s offering consists of a range of seven permanent beers, characterized by unique features and environmental care. Among the most representative are:
- Primo Taglio: a 100% Italian organic beer, symbol of the brewery’s production philosophy.
- Regina del Bosco: made using chestnuts dried over direct fire following traditional methods, giving it a rustic and enveloping aroma.
- Fresh Hop IPA: a fresh and fragrant beer, made with hops grown in Parma and used within 24 hours of harvest to preserve the most intense aromas.
In addition to these, the range also includes:
- Zolla, a Belgian IPA rich in spicy nuances,
- Maggese, a balanced and drinkable American Pale Ale,
- Mezzadra, a fragrant and slightly spicy Saison,
- Ponte di Ferro, a Brown Porter with toasted and slightly sweet tones.
Turris Birra’s attention is not limited to taste but also extends to sustainability. The brewery uses energy from renewable sources, recovers cooling water, and reuses spent grains as fertilizer in the farm. The packaging also reflects this commitment, with recyclable materials and “no wood” labels designed to reduce environmental impact.
Visiting the brewery means immersing yourself in an experience that celebrates artisanal quality, nature, and local traditions.
