Opperbacco: the craft microbrewery in the heart of Abruzzo
In the picturesque setting of the Teramo countryside, in Notaresco, stands Opperbacco, a craft microbrewery that since 2008 embodies the passion for quality beer and the experimentation of new flavors. Founded by Luigi Recchiuti, a graduate in Agricultural Sciences, Opperbacco was born from the meeting of technical knowledge and love for brewing traditions, carefully and dedicatedly reproducing every stage of production.
The plant, unique of its kind, has a capacity of 20 hectoliters and is distinguished by a simple and functional structure: two vats and a single pump. This minimal setup is inspired by the principles of homebrewing, a homemade production method that allows highlighting every detail and characteristic of the beers, creating sparkling brews with an authentic and artisanal soul.
Opperbacco beers: tradition and innovation
Opperbaccoâs production is divided into different lines, each with a precise identity, designed to satisfy the most refined and curious palates:
-
Le Origini: the line of classic beers that started the breweryâs story. Among these stand out the 4punto7, an aromatic golden beer; the Triplipa, a blonde wheat-based IPA; the Bianca Piperita, inspired by Belgian whites; the 10 e Lode, a dark Belgian-style beer; and L'Una and L'Una Rossa, pale beers enriched with citrus and spices.
-
L'Evoluzione: a selection that represents the desire to explore new paths, with beers of strong character such as 6sonIPA (pale and spicy), EIPIEI (golden APA), and Tripping Flowers, a pale beer with delicate floral notes.
-
L'Avanguardia: here experimentation reaches its peak with bold creations such as Violent Shared, characterized by grapefruit and lemon; Deep Underground, a dry and bitter dark beer; and Overdose, a golden beer with sweet hints of aromatic oils.
Alongside production, Opperbacco also runs the Agripub, a convivial and welcoming venue located near the brewery. Here it is possible to taste all the beers straight from the source, paired with typical Abruzzo culinary specialties, such as traditional arrosticini in various versions and wood-fired mini pizzas, for an experience combining flavor and conviviality in a family atmosphere.
Continuous research and the desire to dare make Opperbacco one of the most appreciated protagonists in the Italian craft beer scene, capable of stimulating both expert palates and those approaching the world of quality beers for the first time.
