Parthenya Brewery: Tradition and Sustainability in the Heart of Irpinia
In the green and unspoiled heart of Irpinia, in Montefusco, Parthenya Brewery was born, an artisanal microbrewery that skillfully combines British brewing tradition with the innovative and sustainable energy of the Italian territory. Founded in 2020 by Rossella De Santis and Gianluigi Pilunni, the brewery takes its name from the Partenio Mountains, a symbol of a deep and authentic connection with the surrounding environment.
The foundersâ passion for craft beer was born during their university years, where alongside their studies they developed hands-on skills and experimented with local malts and hops. This dedication translates into beers with strong personalities, inspired by classic English styles but with a distinctly Italian imprint, highlighting the high-quality raw materials sourced locally.
Parthenyaâs Beers: A Flavorful Journey in Respect for Nature
Parthenyaâs production selection includes four exclusive labels, the result of a careful balance between aroma, color, and taste:
- Tale: a golden English Golden Ale, fresh and pleasantly floral.
- T-PA: a pale India Pale Ale, with a complex and enveloping aromatic profile.
- Tato: an amber Irish Red Ale, balanced and rounded in taste.
- Tost: a black Stout, dense and impenetrable, with intense coffee notes.
Each beer is born from meticulous attention in the choice of ingredients: using the pure water from the Partenio Mountains, selected malts, and hops cultivated nearby, to ensure a product that fully expresses the identity of the territory.
Sustainability and Innovation: A Model of Circular Economy
Parthenya is much more than a brewery: it is an eco-brewery that embraces the philosophy of circular economy in every phase of production. The entire production process is based on the use of clean energy derived from photovoltaic panels, minimizing environmental impact. Furthermore, the organic waste from brewing is transformed into useful resources for local agriculture, employed to produce compost and animal feed.
The team, composed exclusively of young people under 35, embodies the dynamic and innovative spirit of the project, able to overcome significant challenges such as those brought by the pandemic. Thanks to their commitment, the brewery has received prestigious awards in the Italian brewing scene, including the Circular Economy Award, a concrete testimony of its attention to environmental respect and sustainable development.
Experience and Culture: Parthenyaâs Added Value
In addition to producing excellent beers, Parthenya Brewery offers the opportunity to participate in guided tours, a unique chance to immerse oneself in the artisanal beer-making process and discover every detail that makes each label so special. These visits are designed to promote craft beer culture, enhance the local supply chain, and raise public awareness about the importance of preferring sustainable and quality products.
In a territory rich in wine-making tradition, Parthenya stands out for its ability to innovate and renew, demonstrating how passion, research, and respect for the environment can give life to a successful project of great cultural value.
