Magester Brewery: Craftsmanship Excellence in the Heart of Valnerina
In the enchanting setting of Valnerina, in Ferentillo, the Magester Craft Brewery was born, a reality distinguished by the quality of its beers and its attention to Umbrian tradition. Founded in 2014 by Giovanni Ridolfi, a master brewer of great passion and expertise, the brewery transformed a former butcher shop into a space where history and innovation coexist harmoniously. This combination is reflected in every stage of production, offering its enthusiasts beers that tell the culture and flavors of the territory.
The name 'Magester' is a tribute to the Lombard culture, more precisely to the 'Lastra di Ursus,' a bas-relief located in the Abbey of San Pietro in Valle in Ferentillo. The inscription 'URSUS MAGESTER FECIT,' meaning “Master Ursus made it,” highlights the brewery’s desire to root its identity in local history, enhancing the cultural heritage that makes Valnerina unique.
An Authentic Experience Between Craft Beers and Territoriality
In 2022, Magester Brewery opened its new headquarters at Via Luigi Einaudi, 5 in Ferentillo, featuring a Beer Shop and a Beer Garden designed to welcome those who wish to discover and taste the beers directly on site. These spaces offer a warm and convivial atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the artisanal offerings accompanied by moments of relaxation in contact with nature.
Annual production stands at around 35,000 liters, made possible by a 500-liter system and a 3,000-liter cellar. Among the specialties that characterize Magester’s range are:
- Cerevisia Popvlvsqve: a blonde Ale at 5.2% ABV, with spicy and fruity notes that enhance its elegance and drinkability.
- Ursus: American Amber Ale at 6%, rich in citrus aromas such as grapefruit, orange, and mandarin, making it a beer with an intense and enveloping personality.
- Feronia: Tripel at 8.5%, inspired by the pre-Roman goddess of the harvest, enriched with local honey from Ferentillo, a perfect blend of sweetness and aromatic complexity.
- Saturno 500: India Pale Ale at 6.3%, dedicated to motorcycle champion Libero Liberati, a full-bodied beer with bitter and fruity notes that celebrate his energy.
- La Merangola: Blanche/Wit Fruit Beer at 4.7%, made with the rare Umbrian citrus variety called merangola, offering a fresh and slightly tart taste.
