Brewery 44: Craft Excellence in the Heart of Albenga
In the picturesque historic center of Albenga, a city known for its millennial history and cultural tradition, Brewery 44 was born, a craft microbrewery that since 2014 has been dedicated to producing high-quality beers. The idea was carried forward by three passionate friends: Luigino Berra, Paolo Degola, and Massimo La Grotteria, who transformed their passion into a concrete reality, beginning to experiment with the first recipes as early as 2010 in an old cellar located at number 44, from which the brewery takes its name.
The production workshop is located at Via Adige 26, where every day unfiltered and unpasteurized craft beers are madeâdeliberate choices to keep all the aromas and organoleptic properties intact. The annual production is around 24 hectoliters, the result of careful work in a brew room with a capacity of 0.5 hectoliters and a fermentation cellar of 5 hectoliters.
A Beer Selection with a Unique and Local Character
The philosophy of Brewery 44 is based on the meeting of Italian tradition and international beer styles, with a strong added value represented by the use of selected local ingredients. The result is a varied and carefully studied range of beers, designed to satisfy the most discerning palates.
Among the most appreciated beers are:
- Alessia: an amber IPA-style beer, characterized by an intense hop profile and a perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness.
- Alice: blonde and light, inspired by the pilsner, offering a delicate balance between malt and bitterness.
- Alisa: a traditional English bitter, amber and copper-colored, with a well-hopped body.
- Angelica: English red beer, full-bodied with a rich taste featuring caramel malt notes and aromatic hops.
- Bianca: light and fresh, in weiss style, perfect for summer days thanks to its delicate aroma.
- Irene: dark and mysterious stout, with toasted, licorice, and caramel notes typical of Irish stout.
- Sara: blonde lager, light and fresh, with a hop bouquet that leaves a pleasant bitter aftertaste.
- Stella: winter red ale, strong and full-bodied with selected malts and hops.
- Vitalia: red cream ale, light and frothy, with fruity notes and easy to drink and pair.
Brewery 44âs beers can be found in numerous selected venues in Liguria, ranging from traditional taverns to trendy restaurants, thus ensuring wide distribution and continuous appreciation among craft beer lovers.
