Caliber 22: the craft microbrewery in the heart of Tuscany

Located in Castelfranco Piandiscò, in the province of Arezzo, Caliber 22 is a microbrewery that represents the passion and authenticity of Italian craft beer. Founded in 2015 by Raimondo Melis, an expert brewer with extensive experience in homebrewing and quality collaborations in the area, this brewery takes its name from the small size of its production plant, which resembles a .22 caliber, but also from the captivating atmosphere of the 'old west.'

Production takes place in the hamlet of Santa Barbara, in Cavriglia, also in the province of Arezzo, while the tap room is located in Figline Valdarno, a welcoming place where enthusiasts can taste the craft beers directly, immersed in an environment that reflects the young and dynamic philosophy of the brewery.

Beers with character and great personality

Caliber 22’s beers stand out for a skillful and predominant use of hops, with particular attention to New World varieties. The production is 100% artisanal, without pasteurization or microfiltration, and with natural bottle refermentation that preserves all the organoleptic qualities of the beers.

Among the most appreciated labels are:

1 Shot 1 Kill: a Session IPA with an amber color and orange highlights, surprising with notes of mandarin and bergamot zest, enriched by floral and resinous scents. The taste is fresh, dry, with a slightly astringent and spicy finish.
La Santa Barbara: an English Pale Ale with a medium body and easy drinkability, perfect for those seeking a balance between the typical bitterness of English hops and the biscuit and caramel sweetness from the malts.
CCCP: an American Pale Ale with amber color, expressing an intensely earthy aromatic profile thanks to Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, and Palisade hops, with a decisive bitterness and a delicate hint of cotton candy.
Dark Kiss: a Mild with a dark color, light body, and sweet flavors, blending notes of roasted malt, caramel, and hazelnuts, enriched by nuances of chocolate, plum, and licorice.
