Fermenti Sociali: artisanal excellence in the heart of Savigno
Fermenti Sociali is a craft microbrewery located in Savigno, a charming hillside village in the municipality of Valsamoggia, in the province of Bologna. Founded in 2009 within the organic farm CÃ Battistini, the brewery is the result of the shared passion and commitment of six partners: Carlo, Germana, Giulia, Laura, Simone, and Franco. Together, they created a project that combines brewing tradition with a sincere philosophy of food self-sufficiency and enhancement of the local territory.
A deep connection with the territory and organic farming
Fermenti Sociali stands out for its exclusive use of organic ingredients grown directly in the surrounding lands. The company cultivates barley and wheat, from which it produces special malts following a craft process inspired by the ancient Central European and Anglo-Saxon malting traditions. The hops, although not grown on-site, come from experimental cultivations by local farmers, ensuring a short and sustainable supply chain in full harmony with the territory.
The beers proudly reflect Anglo-Saxon and Belgian brewing traditions, with a range of styles including:
- Belgian Ale Valsamoggia (B.A.V.)
- Savigno Sweet Stout (3esse)
- Fru.Gale, a wheat beer signed by CÃ Battistini
- R.I.O.T. (Red Irish of TolÃĻ)
Each label tells a unique story, connected to the roots of the territory and the passion of its producers, offering an authentic and characterful tasting experience.
A bond with the community and environmental sustainability
Fermenti Sociali is not just a brewery, but a point of reference for the local community. Through participation in the organic farmers' markets organized by Campi Aperti, the company promotes craft beer culture and directly supports the local organic agriculture. These markets, held in various areas of Bologna and its province, allow consumers to meet and purchase beers directly, fostering a genuine relationship between producers and enthusiasts.
The headquarters are located at Via del Segaticcio 1972B, about 500 meters above sea level, in a natural setting ideal for the growth of quality cereals and the production of extraordinary beers. The environment immersed in nature offers tranquility and inspiration for artisanal work that looks to the future without forgetting its roots.
Fermenti Sociali is a concrete demonstration of how careful attention to raw materials, a strong connection to the territory, and deep respect for the environment can coexist to create high-quality beers that are genuine and rooted in the tradition of Valsamoggia.
