Birrificio Curtense: the artisanal excellence of Passirano
Birrificio Curtense is a gem in the Italian brewing scene located in Passirano, in the province of Brescia. Founded in 2011 by Christian Manessi and Matteo Marenghi, it was born out of a passion developed over time: Matteo, in fact, approached the world of craft beer back in 1999 thanks to a first homebrewing kit. Since then, the passion has become a concrete project that translates into authentic and high-quality beers, the result of years of dedication and experimentation.
Quality and territory: the foundation of Curtense beers
The value of Birrificio Curtense’s beers is based on meticulous attention to raw materials. Only local ingredients carefully selected are used, favoring agricultural products from the Brescia area. A distinctive element is the Monterotondo water, characterized by unique organoleptic properties that give the beers an original identity and unmistakable character.
Each beer produced follows a natural fermentation process, without the addition of additives or carbon dioxide, and is left raw, unpasteurized, and unfiltered. This artisanal choice preserves the organoleptic qualities intact, offering an authentic and nuanced tasting experience.
A rich and varied range of beers
Birrificio Curtense’s production spans various brewing styles, drawing inspiration from European and American traditions to create beers that tell different stories and cultures. Among the varieties offered, there are references to:
- German, Belgian, Anglo-Saxon, and American styles
- Beers flavored with typical local ingredients such as cherries, chestnuts, and lavender
Among the flagship products, the Curtense Riserva received the prestigious Best Beer of the Year award in 2021 and 2023, while the Curtense Alimento Bio, a gluten-free blonde ale, surprises with its 100% organic composition, also designed for those following particular dietary regimes.
A unique experience for enthusiasts
For those wishing to enjoy a complete experience, Birrificio Curtense opens its doors every Saturday at 11:00 AM, offering guided tours by reservation.
