Birrificio Millecento: A Craft Excellence in the Heart of Fabriano
Birrificio Millecento is located at Via San Silvestro 22, in the picturesque town of Fabriano, in the province of Ancona. Founded in 2014 from the passion and expertise of Samuele Carnevali, a chemist and brewer, this microbrewery stands out for the artisanal quality and authenticity of its production. Situated within the Abbazia di San Cassiano in Valbagnola, a 12th-century Benedictine monastery, the brewery benefits from the pure and property-rich water of the eponymous spring, a key element that gives its beers a unique and unmistakable character.
Millecento’s identity is deeply inspired by the local monastic tradition, honoring with each label a Benedictine monk and the stories linked to the abbey. This connection with history is also evident in the beer recipes, where aromas and scents are skillfully blended to tell the past without giving up innovation and modern taste.
The Millecento Craft Beer Selection
Millecento’s production is varied and designed to satisfy different palates while maintaining a high standard of quality. Among the most appreciated beers are:
-
Tommaso: a light wheat beer, pale straw in color, with a fruity bouquet reminiscent of banana, pineapple, and delicate floral hints. Light and easy to drink, it is perfect for those seeking freshness and delicacy.
-
Giovanni: a pils with a bright pale gold hue, creamy foam, and malty notes accompanied by light hop nuances that enhance its balance and elegance.
-
Gregoire: an amber beer, almost rust-colored, characterized by toasted aromas and hints of dried fruit. Perfect to drink paired with rich dishes or simply in front of a warm fireplace, it is full-bodied with a dry and silky finish.
-
Hugo: dark and intense, this Anglo-Saxon beer releases aromas of coffee, chocolate, licorice, and roasted notes, with a taste that balances sweetness and bitterness. Ideal to enjoy in contemplation or with chocolate and coffee desserts.
-
Joseph: an amber India Pale Ale with a complex aromatic spectrum ranging from red fruit to cocoa, with bitterness well balanced by generous malt. Excellent with red meats and aged cheeses.
-
Zaffera: a tribute to the territory using Matelica saffron. Deep golden in color, it presents scents of flowers, spices, and summer fruit, with a silky body and a slightly bitter finish that invites another sip. Perfectly pairs with white meats, pizza, desserts, or fish dishes.
Millecento’s production relies on electric-GPL heated systems that ensure precision and control at every stage of brewing. Special attention is given to raw materials, with particular care in the use of spring limestone water, an integral part of the Umbrian-Marche Apennine territory.
