Vallecellio Craft Brewery: Tradition and Territory in the Heart of Valsesia
In the picturesque setting of Valsesia, in Cellio, province of Vercelli, lies the Vallecellio Craft Brewery, an authentic example of a microbrewery that combines a passion for craft beer with the natural riches of the territory. Founded in 2005, Vallecellio has managed to grow while maintaining an intact connection to tradition, highlighting local raw materials and the most genuine processing techniques.
In 2014, thanks to the arrival of Gianni Gallarotti, a former textile worker with a deep love for beer production, the brewery found new energy and momentum. The move to the Maddalena locality and the expansion of the production plant allowed Vallecellio to reach a production of about 500 liters of beer per week, while guaranteeing high quality standards, thanks above all to the innovative continuous-cycle brewing room.
A Sensory Experience Linked to the Territory
The philosophy of Vallecellio Craft Brewery is based on the use of local raw materials and the enhancement of unique elements of the territory. In particular, the use of pure water sourced from the glaciers of Monte Rosa gives the beers a distinctive and uncontaminated character. Added to this are typical ingredients from the area such as:
- dried chestnuts gathered from the surrounding woods,
- thyme from Upper Valsesia, which imparts intense aromatic scents,
- rice from the “Arborio” and “Baraggia” varieties, famous worldwide.
These carefully chosen ingredients enrich each beer, creating a constant dialogue between product and territory, a true narration of local traditions.
Among the most appreciated beers stand out:
- Chestnut Beer, made with dried chestnuts, with a rounded and enveloping taste,
- Rice Beer, which uses Arborio rice for a light and refined drink,
- gluten-free options such as “Mondina” and “Castanea,” ideal for those seeking uncompromising quality,
- and other creations like “Monterosa,” “Chiara,” and “Bianca,” each with a unique character rooted in Valtellina culture.
