In the enchanting setting of the Tuscan Maremma, in Roccalbegna, stands the Ugo Contini Bonacossi Brewery, an agricultural enterprise that since 2014 has been passionately dedicated to producing top-quality craft beer. Founded by Ugo Contini Bonacossi, this brewery stands out for its authentic and innovative approach, capable of combining tradition and creativity in every bottle.
Ugo, originally from Carmignano, chose to move to the Maremma countryside to enhance the local resources through production that embraces beer, wine, and honey. His farmhouse beer Bròc is the beating heart of the brewery: it is an amber ale with top fermentation, made with barley malt and wheat. Its hopping is moderate, while the light spicing recalls symbolism and flavors of traditional Belgian abbey beers, thus offering an original and refined tasting experience.
Passion and Artisanal Quality in Production
The brewery has a production capacity of 2.5 hectoliters per batch and a cellar with a capacity of 9 hectoliters, with an annual production of around 70 hectoliters. Ugo is personally involved in every stage of production, ensuring meticulous control and artisanal care that is reflected in the final quality of the products.
Among the brewery’s strengths is also the taproom, a space dedicated to enthusiasts where it is possible to taste the beers produced directly, immersing oneself in the authentic and relaxing atmosphere of the Maremma countryside.
Completing the brewery’s offer are the wines, such as Ughetto and Armancione, obtained from vineyards planted between 2014 and 2015. These wines, made from red and white grapes, follow an organic and sustainable method, respecting the environment and local biodiversity.
