Birrificio Vetra: Craft Beer with an Urban Spirit
Founded in 2016 in Caronno Pertusella, in the heart of the province of Varese, Birrificio Vetra was born from the meeting of a group of friends with different backgrounds, united by the desire to make quality beer accessible to everyone. Behind this venture is a team led by master brewer Stefano Simonelli, with knowledge gained from both Italian and international breweries, and Andrea Paci, an expert in mixology and venue management. This blend of skills has allowed Vetra to quickly establish itself as a reference point for craft beer enthusiasts.
The brewery’s distinctive style is also reflected in its branding, strongly inspired by street culture and pop art. This aesthetic choice makes each bottle not only a product to enjoy but also a small piece of contemporary design, recognizable and engaging. The carefully curated visual identity helps create an authentic connection with a young, urban, and dynamic audience.
A Versatile Production Between Tradition and Experimentation
The brewery has a production facility with a capacity of 40 hectoliters, allowing an annual output of about 3,000 hectoliters. This setup is designed to meet steadily growing demand, offering high-quality beers without giving up artisanal care. The beer range is broad and crafted to satisfy different tastes and preferences:
- Pils: fresh and fragrant, perfect for any occasion
- Pale Ale: balanced and easy to drink
- IPA: with a more pronounced and aromatic character
- Saison: spicy and elegant, a symbol of reinterpreted Belgian tradition
- Black: dark and rounded, with an intense flavor
In addition to these core lines, Vetra also stands out for its special and seasonal beers, such as the famous DonZa, a smoked rauchbier enriched with citrus notes of orange peel, born from a collaboration with other craft breweries. This approach reflects the willingness to experiment and constantly reinvent.
Pouring quality, innovation, and passion don’t stop at production. Vetra is also involved in international collaborations, ranging from Norway to China, with projects that tell stories of cultural exchange and global connection, such as the beer inspired by the famous Silk Road.
For those who want to immerse themselves in the Vetra universe, the brewery has opened a venue in the vibrant Navigli district of Milan, the perfect meeting point between conviviality and mindful tasting. Here, visitors can enjoy guided experiences, discover exclusive previews, and participate in ever-new events that broaden the horizons of the beer world.
With a strong connection to urban culture and a constant search for originality, Birrificio Vetra enriches the Italian craft beer scene with an authentic, contemporary, and superior quality offering.
