Rabèl Birrificio del Canavese: Tradition and Innovation in the Heart of Ivrea
In the heart of Ivrea, at 275 Via Torino, is Birrificio Rabèl, a craft brewery that has skillfully combined tradition and innovation in the world of craft beer. Founded in 2012 by Daniele Bovo and Davide Cardini, Rabèl initially started as a beer firm, collaborating with other facilities to produce its first beers. Driven by a desire for independence and a passion for quality, in 2017 the brewery acquired its own production system, quickly establishing itself in the brewing scene of Canavese and Piedmont.
The name itself, “Rabèl,” which in the Piedmontese dialect means uproar, encapsulates the lively and dynamic essence that animates the two founding partners. Their story is unique: Daniele, a cellist specialized in baroque music, and Davide, a sommelier and mechanical programmer, intertwined their skills and passions to create beers that tell not only flavors but also local stories and traditions.
A Strong Bond with the Territory and Its Excellence
One of the distinguishing features of Birrificio Rabèl is its attention to the territory. This philosophy is reflected in its unique creations and in respect for local traditions, enhanced by innovative and original touches. Among the flagship beers:
- IvreaLaBella: a blanche inspired by the famous Carnival of Ivrea, a celebration that unites community and history, transformed into an intense and fresh tasting experience.
- Morenica: a distinctive IGA made with must from Erbaluce passito, demonstrating the brewery’s strong connection to Piedmont’s enological excellences.
In July 2023, Rabèl opened its own Taproom inside a former foundry located in a historic Olivetti district, offering enthusiasts an immersive experience: here, you can taste beers directly at the production site, savoring them in a setting that blends Ivrea’s industrial memory with the latest modern brewing techniques.
A Philosophy Based on Quality and Authenticity
The philosophy of Birrificio Rabèl revolves around the constant pursuit of quality and authenticity. Each beer is born from a careful selection of ingredients and a production process that keeps brewing tradition alive, but with that personal and innovative touch the brewery defines as “g’ddo” — a Piedmontese dialect expression indicating that je ne sais quoi capable of making the difference.
With an annual production of around 40,000 liters and a production capacity of 600 liters, Rabèl today is a point of reference for craft beer lovers seeking authentic products able to tell a territory, its roots, and its innovations through every sip.
Birrificio Rabèl is not just a beer producer, but a true ambassador of Canavese in the brewing world, a place where passion for beer becomes culture, tradition, and continuous discovery.
