Balabiòtt Craft Brewery: Passion and Tradition in the Heart of Domodossola
The Balabiòtt Craft Brewery, located at Via Castellazzo 43 in Domodossola, is a young and dynamic reality that has established itself in the Italian craft beer scene thanks to quality, originality, and a strong connection to the territory. Founded in 2014 by Michele and Matteo, two friends united by a passion for brewing, the brewery began its production in a former pastry laboratory in the city center, where the first creations such as Fiòla, Sciùra, and Rabelòtt were born.
Within a few years, thanks to growing demand and a constant desire to grow, Balabiòtt moved to its current premises, equipped with a 12-hectoliter brewhouse and a 270-hectoliter fermentation cellar. This evolution allowed the range of beers to expand, introducing new labels appreciated by connoisseurs such as Ganàssa (West Coast IPA) and Parka (Weiss).
A Philosophy Based on Quality and Authenticity
Balabiòtt Brewery’s production stands out for the complete absence of preservatives, a clear commitment to preserving the beer’s natural flavors and properties. Each label is a story rooted in the culture and tradition of the Ossola Valley, offering a rich and authentic sensory experience.
Balabiòtt beers are numerous and varied, able to meet different tastes, thanks to brewing styles that range from the freshness of the Golden Ale Fiòla to the complexity of the Smoked Porter Fumèra. Among the most representative offerings are:
- Fiòla (Golden Ale)
- Ganàssa (American Lager)
- Baiòrda (Blanche)
- Rebelòtt (English IPA)
- Fumèra (Smoked Porter)
- 40dì (Roggenbier)
- Bìsa (Saison)
- Sciùra (Honey Ale)
- Stèla (Winter Warmer)
The strong bond with the territory and consistent quality have led to prestigious recognitions, such as the inclusion of the Sciùra beer in the 'Le Grandi Birre' ('The Great Beers') category of the Slow Food Guide to Italian Beers in 2017, a true consecration in the brewing world.
A Meeting Place for Beer and Taste Lovers
Not just beers, but also a gastronomic reference point thanks to the Balabiòtt Gastropub, located in the former Bar Roma in Domodossola. Here the experience becomes complete, with a curated selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles, accompanied by dishes prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients, capable of enhancing flavors and aromas.
The passion for the territory, meticulous attention to quality, and continuous innovation make Balabiòtt a shining example among Italy’s microbreweries, a place where every visit turns into a journey discovering new shades of taste and stories to tell.
