Malcantone Craft Brewery is a young but already highly regarded craft brewery, located in Ozzano dell’Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 2020 from the idea of Francesco Goretta, a brewer with Apulian roots and a great passion for beer culture, Malcantone stands out for a refined approach and meticulous attention to classic beer styles.
Francesco took his first steps in the world of craft beer as a passionate homebrewer and founder of Luppulia, one of the first Italian associations dedicated to spreading beer culture. After obtaining his Artisan Brewer diploma, he turned his passion into reality by creating Malcantone, a brewery focused on quality and tradition.
Low fermentation beers and artisanal quality
Malcantone is essentially characterized by the production of bottom-fermented beers, clearly inspired by classic German beer styles, but with its own modern and refined identity. Among the flagship beers are:
- 44° 11°: a golden Helles Bock, perfectly balanced between the sweet notes of cereals and a pleasant hop bouquet.
- Debbie: a Keller Pils that embodies the elegance and refined drinkability typical of lagers, with a clean and fresh character.
Production takes place using a 15-hectoliter system and a 75-hectoliter cellar, with an organization that includes 5 isobaric fermenters. A distinctive element is the lagering process, a maturation phase at low temperature that guarantees Malcantone’s beers exceptional flavor purity and drinkability.
