Lenz Brewery: Artisanal Excellence in the Heart of Campania
In the picturesque area of Sessa Aurunca, in Campania, Lenz Brewery establishes itself as a center of excellence in the world of Italian craft beer. Founded in 2016 by brothers Antonio and Vincenzo Leanza, the brewery carries a strong family identity reflected in its very name, born from the combination of their surnames. This family bond translates into careful production, where quality and tradition are the cornerstones.
Located at Via Domiziana Km 2.391, Lenz Brewery is also distinguished by its adoption of the agricultural formula: it uses barley grown directly on its own land. This approach not only ensures unparalleled freshness and quality of raw materials but also actively contributes to the revival of the local agricultural economy, with deep roots in the Sessa Aurunca territory.
Beers from Northern European Tradition
Lenz’s beers are characterized by a stylistic imprint inspired by the ancient brewing traditions of Northern Europe, offering a diverse range with great personality. The main types offered are:
-
Pils: a clear, top-fermented, unfiltered beer. Its golden blonde color and abundant fine foam are accompanied by an intense aroma of golden malt and hops, enriched with delicate floral notes. On the palate, the balance is perfect thanks to a sweet initial malt flavor, followed by a slightly bitter finish recalling caramel hints.
-
Marzen: a copper-colored, top-fermented beer with a robust character and persistent foam. The taste is full and enveloping, with the malt strongly expressed throughout the tasting experience, while the herbal and floral notes from the hops complete the sensory experience.
-
Weiss: a cloudy blonde beer, the result of a recipe with 50% wheat. It features abundant foam and a pleasant acidity, less bitter than the others. The creamy texture releases balanced aromas between malt base, herbal and floral scents, and a slight fruity touch given by the yeasts in fermentation.
One of the unique aspects of Lenz Brewery is the use of pure water sourced from the Roccamonfina volcano spring, renowned for its high quality and hardness. This element gives the beers exceptional drinkability and a distinctive character.
Production takes place in a family-run facility, with an annual capacity of 300 hectoliters and a cellar of 30 hectoliters, allowing precise control over every stage of the process. Meticulous attention to detail and the choice of high-quality raw materials make Lenz Brewery a benchmark for those seeking craft beers deeply connected to the territory and European brewing tradition.
