LMB - La Mia Birra: Craft Excellence from the Heart of Valsassina
In the heart of the picturesque Valsassina, in Primaluna, in the province of Lecco, stands LMB - La Mia Birra, a craft brewery that since 2010 has been passionately and dedicatedly carrying on the brewing tradition inspired by the authentic flavors of Germany. Founded by Bruno Moneta and his wife Lucia, this brewery not only preserves ancient recipes but reinvents them with originality, offering high-quality beers that tell stories of territory and craftsmanship.
Since its recent move to Via Provinciale 27, LMB continues to produce a range of unique beers, each characterized by distinctive notes that captivate diverse palates, providing a varied and engaging tasting experience.
LMB Beers: Tradition and Innovation in Every Sip
The LMB beer collection stands out for its balanced combinations of flavors and aromas that reflect the passion of its creators. Among the main labels are:
- Chiara: a light and easy-drinking beer, with a medium body and a clean taste, perfect to accompany light dishes such as pizzas and appetizers.
- Pils: brewed with the decoction method, it offers an intense aroma of malt and spices, balanced by a mild bitterness and medium-low carbonation. Ideal with aged cheeses or flavorful cured meats.
- Evada: a complex and intriguing beer with a full body, enriched by marked spices and a hint of incense that makes it truly special.
- Vienna: amber with a delicate flavor, a light body, and a hop aftertaste with spicy nuances. Extremely versatile, suitable for any kind of dish.
- Fumè: characterized by an intense smoky aroma and a spicy flavor, this beer with medium body and moderate carbonation is the perfect companion for grilled meats and typical local stews.
In 2022, LMB received a prestigious award at the 'Gran Premio Nazionale Birra con Castagne,' winning second place in the top-fermentation category with 'L'ac e Castegn,' a dark amber beer with creamy foam that combines rich flavors and the traditions of Valsassina and nearby Val Varrone. This special beer uses smoked chestnuts prepared according to an ancient century-old technique, enhancing the local identity with authentic taste.
LMB beers are available in 0.5L bottles and kegs of 10L, 20L, or 30L, with the possibility of contacting the brewery directly for availability of larger formats. They are appreciated and served in numerous bars, taverns, and restaurants throughout Valsassina and around the splendid mountains of Lake Como.
Visitors to Primaluna can also enjoy an outdoor tasting experience at the tennis courts, thanks to LMB’s reopened take-away service with tables set in nature, ideal for savoring the beers in a relaxing and convivial atmosphere.
