Maria Pia and Carlos met in California, immersed in the atmosphere of a winery, where the discovery of craft beer sparked in them a genuine enthusiasm for this beverage. After experimenting with home-made production and visiting numerous breweries, they decided to bring this new passion back to Sicily, realizing the dream of opening a brewery capable of telling stories and traditions through every bottle.

The name 'Picara' comes from the encounter with Artemisia, a blind cat who became a symbol of strength and determination. Artemisia embodies the ability to overcome adversity with serenity, a value that pervades the brewery and is reflected in the logo image. The brewery, located in Contrada Gorgazzo in Salemi, offers a complete experience that goes beyond mere production.
