La Morosina: Tradition and Innovation in the Heart of the Ticino Park
La Morosina is an ancient farm located in the picturesque heart of the Ticino Park, just a few kilometers from Abbiategrasso, in the province of Milan. Its origins date back to the 1600s, when the farmhouse began cultivating the fertile alluvial plain overlooking the Ticino River. This long history is a testament to a deep connection with the land and local agricultural tradition, a heritage that over the centuries has been able to renew itself without ever losing its identity.
Since 2010, under the guidance of Filippo Ghidoni, La Morosina has embarked on a path of renewal that skillfully combines innovation and sustainability. Today, the farm cultivates barley, wheat, and hops directly in its fields, aiming to create a short supply chain farmhouse beer made exclusively with local ingredients. The water used for production comes from a natural spring, ensuring purity and quality in the final product, a key detail for those seeking authenticity and genuineness.
Craft Beers and Genuine Cuisine: A Multisensory Experience
La Morosina’s beer production stands out for its quality and variety. All beers are top-fermented, unfiltered, and unpasteurized to preserve intact aromas and flavors:
- La Morosina Bionda: balanced and full-bodied with a well-rounded bitterness. Excellent paired with traditional first courses.
- La Morosina Rossa: with an amber color and a rich aromatic bouquet, it pairs perfectly with aged cheeses and meat main courses.
- La Morosina Sensia: light and refreshing, ideal for aperitifs and relaxing moments.
- La Morosina Weizen: an aromatic blend of wheat and barley malts, highlighting soft flavors, perfect with fresh cheeses and vegetables.
In addition to the brewery, La Morosina also offers a cozy farmhouse inn where you can taste dishes of the local tradition prepared with products grown directly on the farm. The atmosphere is warm and family-oriented, with indoor and outdoor spaces — including gardens and porticoes — that make every meal a special moment. The restaurant is also the ideal setting for organizing events, thanks to attentive service and a relaxing atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home.
La Morosina’s commitment also extends to the environment: the farm adopts circular economy practices, such as reusing wastewater for irrigation and using solar panels for sustainable energy. Moreover, it collaborates with the University of Milan in the study of a native wild hop from the Ticino valley, to further enrich the local supply chain with a unique, environmentally respectful product.
This reality represents a virtuous example of how rural tradition and innovation can coexist in harmony, giving life to authentic products with a unique character, the fruit of a passion rooted in the land and a strong sense of responsibility towards the territory.
