Croce di Malto: The Craftsmanship Excellence of Trecate
Croce di Malto is a craft brewery founded in 2008 in Trecate, in the province of Novara, by a group of friends united by a great passion for quality beer. Since the beginning, it has stood out on the Italian and international scene thanks to its ability to combine tradition and innovation in the production of its beers.
The brewery operates with a 9-hectoliter brewing system, accompanied by a cellar equipped with fermenters and maturators of varying capacities, allowing an annual production of around 2,000 hectoliters. The selection of ingredients is rigorous: they use only the best malted barleys from all over Europe and a careful selection of noble hops from different parts of the world, often enhanced with particular spices. A distinctive element is the absence of pasteurization and filtration treatments, which keeps all the organoleptic properties of the beers intact, ensuring superior quality and an authentic taste.
Croce di Malto’s Signature Beers
Among the most celebrated productions is Magnus, a double malt beer inspired by Belgian abbey beers, appreciated for its aromatic complexity. On the palate, it offers notes of:

These flavors intertwine harmoniously with a sweetness balanced by a slight bitterness. Magnus has won prestigious awards, including first place at the Australian International Beer Awards in 2013 and second at the European Beer Star in 2015.
Another leading beer is Hauria, a Kölsch that stands out for its freshness and easy drinkability, achieved by using noble German hops. This beer won the gold medal at the European Beer Star in 2014, consolidating Croce di Malto’s reputation as a producer of excellence.
Not to be forgotten is Triplexxx, a pale high-alcohol beer inspired by Belgian tradition but with a unique personality derived from the use of three different cereals, three hops, and three spices that give it a complex and enveloping structure. It won the platinum medal at the Mondial de la Bière in Strasbourg in 2009.
