Molino Spadoni Brewery: Tradition and Innovation in Craft Beer
The Molino Spadoni Brewery, located in Reda, in the heart of Faenza, was born from the fusion of a centuries-old tradition in cereal processing and a passion for craft beer. Founded in 2018, this brewery represents the natural evolution of Molino Spadoni, a historic milling company established in 1921, which chose to enhance its excellent cereals by transforming them into beers that tell the story of the territory through taste and quality.
The company uses a highly automated system with a 2,000-liter brewhouse and a bottling line capable of reaching 2,000 bottles per hour. This advanced technology allows an annual production of about 1,600 hectoliters, while maintaining a strongly artisanal character and attention to detail. The beers produced here are unfiltered, neither pasteurized nor microfiltered, a choice that preserves the authenticity and organoleptic qualities of the selected malts.
The Range of Molino Spadoni Craft Beers
The brewery offers a selection of beers, each with a well-defined identity, designed to satisfy different palates and highlight high-quality raw materials:
- Golden Ale Blonde: with herbal and floral notes, it is ideal for those seeking a fresh and delicate drink.
- Amber Ale Red: with caramel hints, it offers a rich, smooth, and enveloping taste.
- India Pale Ale (IPA): enriched with six hop varieties, it provides intense tropical notes and a strong character.
- Blanche: inspired by Belgian tradition, it is brewed with ancient Senatore Cappelli wheat and flavored with ginger and turmeric, for a uniquely aromatic experience.
- Double Malt Blond Ale: a light yet complex beer, with delicate pink pepper notes that enhance its spicy aromas.
The beers are packaged in 33 cl, 50 cl, and 66 cl bottles to meet different consumption needs. The packaging reflects the historical identity of Molino Spadoni, with labels reminiscent of the jute sacks used for cereal storage, a tribute to the perfect combination of tradition and innovation.
For enthusiasts interested in delving deeper into the world of craft beer, the brewery offers guided tours by appointment. During these tours, brewmaster Nicola Grande accompanies visitors through the production phases, explaining the techniques and characteristics of the various beers, with dedicated tastings to discover the unique aromatic profiles. Tours can be arranged for groups or couples and often include dinners at Casa Spadoni in Faenza, enriching the experience with typical local flavors.
The Molino Spadoni Brewery is an emblematic example of how passion for quality and the search for cultural roots can give life to modern products deeply rooted in Italian tradition, offering precious and genuine craft beers, the perfect union between the milling world and that of beer.
