Limen Brewery: The Art of Calabrian Craft Beer

Located in Siderno, in the heart of the province of Reggio Calabria, Limen Brewery was born in 2012 from the idea and passion of Nicola Ferrentino. The name “Limen” is inspired by 'Limina,' a place marking the natural border between the Aspromonte and the Serre Calabre mountain ranges, symbolizing the meeting point between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian coasts. This choice is not accidental: it expresses a deep desire to root itself in the Calabrian territory, telling its culture, flavors, and traditions through every bottle.

The microbrewery stands out for its careful and innovative artisanal approach. The laboratory, equipped with modern technologies, is designed to ensure high-quality production, starting from selected raw materials such as local water, fine malts, natural yeasts, sugar, hops, and carefully chosen spices. Every stage, from fermentation to bottle refermentation, is conceived to preserve intact scents and aromas, without filtrations or pasteurizations that could alter the final product.

Products and Territory: a Unique Combination

The beers signed Limen Brewery cover a wide range of styles, ranging from Pale Ale to Yankee IPA, passing through the characteristic Jermana (Saison) to Belgian-inspired beers like Fester (Belgian Strong Ale). Among the most appreciated:

• Jermana: made with rye from Canolo, at the foot of the Aspromonte, giving it an authentic taste strongly connected to the territory.
• Bitter Peel (Session IPA): enriched with organic pink grapefruit peels, coming from local farms, offering a unique citrus touch.
• Needles (Fir IPA): characterized by the addition of white fir tips from the Aspromonte, which provide a resinous and enveloping aroma.

All beers follow a method of top fermentation, ensuring a rich and complex tasting experience, appreciated by connoisseurs of Italian craft beer.

Despite the difficulties faced in recent years, Limen Brewery has been able to adapt, also introducing canned production for IPAs. This choice has allowed them to optimize environmental impact and maintain more efficient distribution, without giving up the quality that distinguishes every single product.

Limen Brewery is much more than a simple microbrewery: it is a project born from love for Calabria, where tradition and innovation merge to tell, through beer, the identity of a territory rich in history and authentic flavors.
