Venetian Craft Brewery: the excellence of Venetian craft beer
The Venetian Craft Brewery (BAV) was founded in 2010 in Maerne di Martellago, in the heart of the province of Venice, and today it is a leading presence in the Italian craft beer scene. After some initial difficulties, in 2012 a group of friends took over the management, giving the project an innovative turn and a new direction.
The brewery’s mission is clear and distinctive: to produce beers that respect the classic brewing traditions without, however, giving up an authentic and original identity of their own. This balance between tradition and innovation has led BAV to earn important recognition in the sector, including a gold medal at the famous 'Beer of the Year' competition in 2016 with its Scotch Ale called Furia, awarded as the best in its category.
The beer range and the art of the territory
BAV’s catalog includes beers spanning different styles, ranging from classic to seasonal productions, all characterized by meticulous attention to quality and ingredient care. Among the most appreciated flagship beers are:
- Miss P: a golden-colored Pilsner, delicate and soft, with notes of fresh bread and hay that make it particularly pleasant on the palate.
- Strike: an IPA with intense yellow color, distinguished by citrus aromas and a balanced bitter finish, with a velvety texture.
The seasonal beers add a touch of originality, with offerings such as:
- Pimpi, a full-bodied yet easy-to-drink Pumpkin Ale, perfect for those seeking a warm and seasonal experience.
- Matrioska, a complex Russian Imperial Stout aged in barrels, expressing its full aromatic richness with woody and roasted notes.
In addition to beer production, BAV promotes a strong connection with the territory through the “Beer for Art” project, which involves local artists in creating unique labels, turning each bottle into a true work of art. This synergy between beer and culture stems from the desire to enhance Venetian excellences and offer a product that is also an aesthetic and cultural experience.
With an annual production exceeding 1,400 hectoliters, the Venetian Craft Brewery continues to grow while maintaining a strong bond with the territory and aiming to spread the passion for quality craft beer both in Italy and abroad. A reality that perfectly exemplifies how tradition, creativity, and community can merge into a vibrant and dynamic project.
