Diciottozerouno Craft Brewery: Passion and Tradition in Oleggio Castello
The Diciottozerouno Craft Brewery was founded in 2014 in Oleggio Castello, in the province of Novara, thanks to the insight and dedication of Davide Sica and Marco Bonfà . The breweryâs name refers to a particular moment in the working day, namely 18:21 (6:21 PM), the time when employees clock out of work, symbolizing the transition from a mandatory activity to a free and fulfilling choice born from a passion for craft beer.
Located inside a renovated ancient farmhouse, a few kilometers from the picturesque Lago Maggiore, Diciottozerouno combines the beauty of the Piedmontese territory with an ideal environment for producing high-quality beer. The facility, respecting European brewing traditions, allows careful management of all production phases, from fermentation to bottling, ensuring high standards and a production capacity of about 850 hectoliters per year.
Quality, Innovation, and Award-Winning Beers
The breweryâs philosophy aims to combine artisan tradition with continuous innovative research, to create unique and memorable beers. Among the most appreciated offerings are:
- Ocra: a Belgian Saison that has received important international recognitions, including the gold medal at the 2018 Brussels Beer Challenge and the 'International Revelation' award. It is a beer characterized by a balanced and complex taste, perfect for those who want to discover the nuances of classic Saisons reinterpreted in a modern key.
- Granata: a Belgian Dark Strong Ale, awarded the gold medal in the 'Belgian-Style Dubbel' category at the European Beer Star in Nuremberg. A full-bodied and enveloping beer, distinguished by deep notes and an intense personality.
The brewery is an active member of Unionbirrai, the association that brings together independent Italian craft breweries. Thanks to this affiliation, Diciottozerouno maintains constant dialogue with the entire national craft movement, promoting the culture of quality beer and sustainability.
For enthusiasts, it is possible to visit the brewery by appointment, a unique opportunity to closely observe the entire production process and taste the beers on site, thus discovering the stories and methods that make each label a small masterpiece.
With a constant commitment to refining techniques and recipes, Diciottozerouno today represents one of the most interesting realities in the Italian brewing scene, ready to surprise both novices and the most discerning connoisseurs.
