Half Brewing: The Craft Brewery of Picinisco that Celebrates Belgian Tradition

In the heart of Picinisco, a charming mountain village in the province of Frosinone, Half Brewing was born, a craft brewery that since 2023 has been winning over the most discerning palates of Lazio and all of Italy. Founded by Francesco Agresti, originally from Itri, Half Brewing is a young reality but deeply rooted in the passion for quality beer and European brewing tradition.

Francesco began his journey into the world of beer in 2015, nurturing his passion from his home garage until making the brewery his profession. His technical refinement was achieved through the “Professional Craft Brewer” course at Enaip in Cremona and collaborations with important Italian breweries such as Birra Amiata, Hammer, Toccalmatto, and Birrificio Pontino. This experience allowed him to develop a personal style, mainly inspired by beers of Belgian origin.

Style and Production: The Art of Saison According to Half Brewing

The range of beers offered by Half Brewing is characterized by a strong reference to the Belgian tradition, particularly the Saison style, known for its spicy and fruity notes and great drinkability. Currently, the brewery presents three different interpretations of this style:

  • Luce: a clear, fresh, and light Saison, perfect for those who love a clean and aromatic sip.
  • Makoto: combines selected barley malts to offer a fuller body and superior flavor complexity.
  • Despina: a dark Saison that explores more robust and intense nuances, ideal for those seeking character and depth.

Coming soon is Sole, a German Ale that further expands the range, demonstrating the desire to experiment and innovate while always maintaining a high-quality standard.

From a technical point of view, Half Brewing has a system with a 680-liter brewhouse and three 1350-liter fermenters each. Bottling is completely manual, a process that guarantees meticulous control and artisanal care of the product.

In addition to production, the brewery opens its doors with guided tours that allow visitors to discover the work, philosophy, and care behind each beer. Enthusiasts can thus get in direct contact with a project that combines innovation and tradition, bringing new light to the Italian brewing scene.

Half Brewing is not just a brewery but a true ambassador of the territory and brewing techniques, capable of offering an authentic experience made of passion, dedication, and taste.
