Birrificio Elvo: Craft Excellence at the Foot of Mombarone
Birrificio Elvo, located in Graglia in the province of Biella, stands out as a family-run microbrewery founded in 2013, which chose to follow the footsteps of the German tradition in the production of low-fermentation craft beers. Its geographic location is no coincidence: the clear and low mineral content waters of Graglia are indeed a precious and ideal resource for making lagers with a clean and refined taste.
Founded by brothers Josif and Raoul Vezzoli, the brewery has always been committed to creating high-quality beers, with careful attention to selecting genuine ingredients and respecting ancient brewing techniques. A recognition that testifies to the skill and passion of this reality is the title of Brewer of the Year 2017 awarded to Josif Vezzoli, a prize that celebrates craftsmanship and dedication to the craft.
A Journey Through Quality Beers and Taste Experiences
Birrificio Elvo’s production follows traditional methods, with slow fermentations lasting from six to eight weeks, to ensure the perfect balance between flavor and drinkability. Among the most loved beers are:
- Pils: a light and fresh beer, ideal for those who enjoy crisp and delicate flavors;
- Doppel Bock: fuller-bodied and intense, with malty notes and a rich structure;
- Schwarz: dark and complex, capable of surprising with its decisive and rounded character.
Not only quality beers but also a place to experience them up close. In 2018, the Biella taproom was inaugurated, a space where enthusiasts and curious visitors can taste the brewery’s productions directly. Two years later, a Biergarten was added in Graglia: a green area perfect for spending relaxing moments enjoying beers in company. In 2021, the Biella taproom was transformed into a pub restaurant specialized in American BBQ, offering unique pairings between Elvo craft beers and smoked dishes with intense flavors.
Birrificio Elvo thus combines tradition and innovation, offering high-quality products and creating an authentic experience for those who love Italian craft beer, enhancing the territory and keeping the connection with its family origins strong.
