Birra del Bracco: Craft Excellence in the Heart of the Riviera di Levante
In the picturesque setting of the Riviera di Levante, in Moneglia, province of Genoa, lies the craft brewery Birra del Bracco. Founded in 2011 by Dario Sambuceti and Daniele Luscardo, the brewery takes its name from the nearby Passo del Bracco, a historic mountain pass crossing the area along the ancient Via Aurelia. This deep-rooted connection to the territory is reflected in every stage of production, characterized by a profound respect for tradition and quality.
Production and Philosophy of Birra del Bracco
The production facility of Birra del Bracco has a capacity of 15 hectoliters per batch, with an annual output ranging between 120 and 150 hectoliters. The brewery stands out for its focus on both top-fermented and bottom-fermented beers, with a particular emphasis on enhancing classic beer styles.
The beers are packaged exclusively in 50 cl bottles, to ensure an authentic and quality-controlled tasting experience. The choice of this format reflects the breweryâs intention to offer products suitable both for convivial moments and for more attentive and mindful tastings.
Birra del Bracco is also committed to promoting environmental sustainability: on its grounds, it cultivates about 250 plants of native hops, thus reducing ecological impact and enhancing local raw materials. The barley used is malted in Austria, a choice that allows maintaining high quality standards and supporting responsible agricultural practices.
During production, in the phase called hop back, local hops are used, while pellet hops are employed for bitterness, thus balancing tradition and innovation to achieve a distinctive aroma.
The Beers of Birra del Bracco: An Offering for Every Taste
The range of beers produced is varied and designed to satisfy different palates, always maintaining particular attention to consistency and character of the labels. Among the most representative beers are:
- Cinghiale Charles: a pale, bottom-fermented beer, characterized by a delicate hop aroma and a balanced bitter finish.
- Amber bottom-fermented beer: with a malty profile and evident caramel notes, perfect for those seeking an intense and enveloping drink.
- Pale beer with citrus aroma: easy-drinking, fresh, and with a slightly bitter finish.
- Seasonal wheat beer: a sweet and refreshing offering, produced in warmer seasons, ideal to accompany spring and summer months.
With its strong territorial identity and artisanal care, Birra del Bracco has become an essential reference point for enthusiasts of Ligurian craft beer and for anyone wishing to discover the authentic flavors of the Italian brewing tradition.
