La Fucina Craft Brewery: the Beating Heart of Alto Molise

In the picturesque village of Pescolanciano, nestled in Alto Molise, La Fucina Brewery was born—an artisanal reality that since 2012 has stood out for producing superior quality beers. Founded by Angelo Scacco and Giovanni Di Salvo, with the valuable contribution of Gilbert Padula, originally from the United States but with roots deeply tied to Pescolanciano, this brewery initially operated as a beer firm, relying on third-party facilities for production. In 2014, with the creation of its own plant, it became a genuine symbol of local craftsmanship.

The production facility is housed in the premises of a former dairy owned by the Di Salvo family, passionately and carefully transformed into a brewery. A characteristic element of the beers is the use of local spring water, a distinctive feature that gives uniqueness and purity to every brew.

The name itself, La Fucina, evokes an alchemical imagery: a true laboratory where to experiment and create, just like the ancient artisans and alchemists. This creative spirit is reflected not only in the beers but also in the label designs, which each time tell a unique and passionate story.

Craft Beers, Authentic Flavors, and Territory

La Fucina’s production ranges among international styles, spanning British, American, Belgian, and German styles, always with obsessive attention to quality and originality. The production capacity is around 700 hectoliters per year, made with a 5-hectoliter system per single brew.

The beers are strictly unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bottle- or keg-refermented, thus ensuring freshness and aromatic complexity.

Among the brewery’s most emblematic productions are:

  • Pescolanciano Comunale: a cheerful and light Golden Ale, perfect for convivial moments in company.
  • Mon Amour: a blanche with straw-yellow color enriched by fruity notes of banana and citrus, with a sharp spiciness.
  • Liberitutti: an amber IPA with resinous, citrus, and tropical fruit hints, enhanced by delicate spicy and melon nuances.
  • Pellerossa: a tripel with a characteristic red color, dense foam, and a complex, enveloping aromatic profile.
  • La Strana: a dark porter with scents of coffee and toasted dried fruit, medium-light body, and a subtle harmonic bitterness.

But La Fucina is not just beer production: it is also a meeting place and a site of discovery. Its walls tell stories of territory and creativity, while guided tours, available by appointment, invite visitors to enter the heart of artisanal production and discover the secrets behind each beer.

With its combination of passion, craftsmanship, and deep connection to the land of Molise, La Fucina represents one of the most authentic and lively voices in the Italian craft beer movement. For those wishing to savor a piece of Molise in a bottle, this brewery is a must-visit.

The premises are open Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the heart of Pescolanciano, Via Cairoli 111/A.
