Nuovo Birrificio Nicese: Excellence and Innovation in the Heart of Monferrato

The Nuovo Birrificio Nicese, located at Strada Bossola 29 in Nizza Monferrato, in the province of Asti, is one of the most authentic and innovative realities in the Piedmont craft beer scene. Founded in 2006 by Carlo Colombara, this brewery has skillfully combined brewing tradition with experimentation, creating a high-quality production appreciated both locally and nationally.

A Craft Beer that Tells the Story of the Territory

The brewery stands out for its careful selection of raw materials, with a strong connection to the land: the barley is, in fact, grown directly on its own fields, ensuring freshness and traceability. Production is also powered by a self-sufficient energy system based on steam biomass, a concrete example of environmental sustainability.

Among the most representative beers of Nuovo Birrificio Nicese are:

  • Dafne: a 6% pale beer characterized by the addition of Cardo Gobbo, a typical local ingredient that imparts a round and persistent bitterness.
  • Amel: a honey beer that combines sweetness and body in a balanced and enveloping way.
  • Iride: a unique sour beer, matured in barrels that previously held Albarossa grape wine, resulting in a distinctive and complex aromatic bouquet.
  • Hurricane: a double malt barley wine with an intense amber character and 10% alcohol content, ideal for moments of meditation and slow tasting.
  • Calaide: an IGA (Italian Grape Ale) made from Barbera grape must, blending the brewing culture with the winemaking tradition of the Monferrato area.

A Place of Gathering and Conviviality

In 2016, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Tap Room was inaugurated—an inviting and informal space where it is possible to taste the beers produced on site, accompanied by a varied gastronomic offer ranging from hamburgers to snails. The Tap Room has thus become a point of reference not only for craft beer enthusiasts but also for those wishing to discover new pairings and experience the culture of 'drinking well' in a convivial setting.

The distribution of Nuovo Birrificio Nicese’s beers is mainly focused on the Ho.Re.Ca. segment, with a customer base of about thirty to forty selected venues. The choice to supply mainly beer on tap allows for establishing long-lasting relationships based on quality and supply continuity, thereby strengthening the brewery’s presence in the Piedmont territory.

The spirit of this venture is perfectly embodied by the company’s symbol, a boxer representing determination and the ability to innovate without ever losing sight of its roots. In Nizza Monferrato, Nuovo Birrificio Nicese continues to bottle not only quality beers but also stories of passion, territory, and courage.
