Kamun Craft Brewery: Passion and Sustainability from the Heart of Piedmont
The Kamun Craft Brewery, founded in 2011 in Predosa, a small town in the province of Alessandria, represents a true example of excellence in the Italian microbrewery scene. Born from the passion of Gian Paolo 'Gippo' Camurri and the entrepreneurial vision of Ludovico 'Ludo' Cattanei, Kamun stands out for its focus on quality and an extremely innovative and sustainable approach to beer production.
The name itself, Kamun, derives from an ancient eastern term for beer, while the logo features the image of Ceres, the pre-Roman goddess of the earth and fertility, symbolizing the agricultural wealth on which every quality beer is based. This choice reflects the brewery’s identity, deeply connected to the territory and premium raw materials.
Quality Craft Beers with a Unique Style
With a production capacity of about 8,000 hectoliters per year, Kamun operates a 15-hectoliter brewing system, complemented by a cellar with a capacity of 115 hectoliters. The beers are available in 33 cl and 75 cl bottles, and the brewery offers a rich and diverse lineup capable of satisfying various palates:
- Occasum: a mild amber beer with spicy notes of orange, ginger, cinnamon, and hibiscus flowers, featuring a balanced and enveloping character.
- Laetitia: an atypical blanche distinguished by cold hopping, which enhances the scents of coriander and cardamom, fresh and fragrant.
- Fera: an American Pale Ale characterized by the use of rye, which gives the sip a surprising crispness.
- Nocturna: a dark and intense Oatmeal Stout, with a delicate beechwood smoke that adds depth and complexity.
- Nucis: a Strong Brown Ale enriched with Piedmont hazelnuts, awarded the gold medal at the Brussels Beer Challenge in the 'Abbey beers' category, expressing all the richness of the territory.
Sustainability and Respect for the Environment
Kamun is not only quality beer but also a concrete example of environmental care. The brewery uses clean energy from a photovoltaic system, employs production waste as feed for premium livestock and raw material for the production of cosmetics, bread, and baked goods. Additionally, biodegradable enzymes are used for cleaning, replacing more aggressive and polluting chemical products.
Beyond production, Kamun invites enthusiasts and the curious to discover the world of craft beer through guided tours available by appointment. These tours allow visitors to closely understand every stage of the production process and appreciate the philosophy behind each bottle.
Kamun thus confirms itself as a landmark in Piedmont and throughout Italy, a brewery that skillfully combines tradition, the pursuit of quality, and a strong commitment to territory protection and environmental sustainability.
